Pink Shirt Day began in 2007 with an inspiring act of kindness when students in Nova Scotia rallied to support a peer who was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. Two Grade 12 students purchased 50 pink shirts and encouraged their classmates to wear pink. To their surprise, the majority of students showed up in pink, turning this simple gesture into a powerful message. From that moment, Pink Shirt Day was born.
Now celebrated on the third Wednesday of February, Pink Shirt Day raises awareness about bullying prevention while promoting kindness and inclusion. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
